So many people watching time go by
So many people locked in the kennel of life
Living in your own filth, everything looks so big
Cower in your primitive hole
Never seeking more life, content to losing time
As long as they fill up your bowl
Tell me not to think or feel
Tell me not to find what's real
Trying so hard to get the chain off of my kneck
Who's pulling the other end so I will forget?
Pushing at me own cage, not intent to housbreak
But to find an open space
Snapping at the hand that feeds, same one theat imprisons me
But I'll never see your face
Tell me not to think or feel
Tell me not to find what's real
Tell me not to search for truth
Eat , sleep, procreate , that's all life wants of you
Looking, searching for a place in my heart that I can call my own
Looking , searching , seeking, finding, hoping, wishing, meditating
Breathing, praying, bowing, shaking, invocating, supplicating
Looking for a place in my heart that I can call my own

Human Roadkill

Ran over by the riggs of depression
Caught under condescending wheels
Impaled upon the road that leads to nowhere
Now I know how roadkill feels
Rain slicked highway can't see clear enough
Couldn't make out the distant view
Now I lie here, guts spilled out
Completely forgotten by you
Here I die alone on a freeway
Here I die alone underworld coming
Leave me dead and they'll be coming
To clean my carcass from the tar
No one will stop to survey the damage
From the windows of thier car
From thier lips they say "What a shame"
"I guess it's just the way this world works"
No one knows who will not take the blame
When everyone has somewhere to be

They came and stole my life way back in 1985
Replacing my soul with a sense of shame
I never could shake it , I tried so hard to break it
Try fighting a face that has no name
Destroying all the hopes a boy can have
Imposing a form of truth with teeth, that tears out joy
Hey there boy, I got some news for you
Everything you love and everything you do
Is going to take you down in a matter of time
Just lay your head down and resign to die!
Truth without love is just abuse
Words without any use
It put my soul in chains again
I never could fake it, I tried so hard to make it
But I was buried beneath remains
Destroying all the hopes a boy can have
Imposing a form of truth with teeth, that tears out joy
Hey there boy, I got some news for you
Everything you love and everything you do
Is going to take you down in a matter of time
Just lay your head down and resign to die!
I'm not going to fake it, I refuse to lie
Even if my truth makes you break down and cry
I will steal your joy and I corrupt your faith
I'm the darkness you forever try to dominate!!

Wind For Wings

Taken my chances and placed my bets
Suffered from wounds you could not get
Without a knife to your throat or a gun to your head
Knocking myself right back to the start again
Couldn't master the game so I re-wrote the rules
And ran so hard to get ahead of the fools
Lost my wind and got set back way behind
Way behind with a loser's state of mind
I always felt that I should have known better
Tried to live to the law if not to the letter
So hard to find some wind for these wings, so I can fly
Wind for these wings
I ran so hard my feet they bled
Changed my skin from a pale to deeper red
And if life claimed more than these bruises and bumps
I'd drag myself home on bloodied stumps
Got to dig down deep for the will to survive
And a deeper meaning to be alive
When the mind is sick and the pills run low
What will I have to make me whole?
